Job Board Recommendations for Finding Remote Work: 6 Sites Worth Knowing

September 30, 2026•6 min read

Only one of the six sites below is a dedicated remote job board, and it is our own: Remote Landers. The other five are not built around remote work. Each has a strong, distinctive point of view: startups, indie games, web3, meaningful work, shorter work weeks. If you want a remote job and one of those leanings fits you, they are worth knowing.

A few things to be clear about up front:

  • Remote Landers is our site. We have no partnership or affiliate relationship with the other five, and there are no affiliate links to them here.
  • Everything below comes from each site's public pages, read on October 7, 2026. Numbers change, so trust what you see when you open the site.
  • We did not sample listings on the other five, and we do not score or rank them. This is a description of what each one is like.

1. Remote Landers (our own site)

What it is: A job board that only lists remote roles. Listings come from employers' own hiring systems.

Who it is for: People who want a starting point where everything is remote, and who want to see pay at a glance.

Cost and applying: Free for job seekers. You apply on the employer's own page, with no sign-in first.

The remote situation: Every listing is remote. The weak spot is location: in the sample we checked for our ten-board review, about one listing in five showed location as "Not stated." Before you apply, confirm that you can work from where you live.

We list it first because it is the only fully remote baseline on this list. Browse the current listings at remotelanders.com/jobs.

2. Wellfound

What it is: A job site for startups. Its homepage says you can apply directly to founders and hiring managers at 27,000+ startups.

Who it is for: People who want to join an early-stage company and are comfortable with the uncertainty that comes with that.

Pay: Most listings show a pay range right in the list, for example a minimum and maximum yearly figure. Some also show equity, and a few show no pay at all.

The remote situation: There is a remote page, which showed about 11,920 results when we looked. "Remote" means different things from one listing to the next. We saw "Remote only • United States," "Remote • New York City+3," "Onsite or remote • Atlanta+17," and "Remote only • Everywhere." Read the location note on each listing before you get invested.

3. WorkWithIndies

What it is: A job site for indie game studios. Categories include art and animation, audio, business and operations, design, marketing and community, production, programming, QA and customer support, and writing.

Who it is for: People who want to work on a small game team. That includes non-programming roles such as community, writing, support, and operations.

The remote situation: Every listing carries a location label: Anywhere, a region or time zone, or a specific city. That is clearer than on many general boards. The listing we opened also showed tags such as Contract, Anywhere and Remote, plus a posted date.

Also worth knowing: There is a Discord community and a weekly email digest. The listing we opened linked to the studio's own Notion page, which gives a sense of how small and community-driven the site is. The site marks itself as beta.

4. web3.career

What it is: A job site for crypto and blockchain. The page says "Browse 41,751 blockchain jobs in web3 at 7,351 projects."

Who it is for: People interested in web3. It is not only for developers: there are categories such as community manager, marketing, design and customer support.

Pay: Most listings show pay, a few do not.

The remote situation: There is a Remote filter. On the first page we saw, remote and city-based roles were mixed together, so you will want to filter.

5. Escape the City

What it is: A site for people who want purposeful work or a career change. You can search by cause, such as poverty reduction, food poverty, better health, education, gender equality and clean water. You can also search by way of working: flexible hours, async hours, remote working trips, four-day week, unlimited holidays, open to career changers, anonymous hiring, and regional options such as "Remote - Europe."

Who it is for: People who want their work to match their values, or who are changing careers.

Cost: Free for job seekers. Employers pay to post.

The remote situation: In the weekly "Top 10 Opportunities" newsletter (issue 863, September 27, 2026), about half the roles were marked remote or remote-hybrid; the rest were in London or hybrid. The site is UK-centred. The "way of working" filter is the most useful tool for remote seekers here.

Also worth knowing: It runs a "Top 1% Employers: Escape Certification" culture audit, and offers courses and career-change programmes.

6. 4dayweek.io

What it is: A job site for employers that offer a four-day week or a shorter schedule. The homepage says "Browse 25,617 roles."

Who it is for: People for whom a shorter working week is the first priority.

The remote situation: The location list showed Remote 19,419, US 13,936 and UK 2,722, and there was a "Top Remote 4 Day Week Jobs" section with 231 live roles. So not every role is fully remote; use the filter.

Schedule types: 4-day week (640 roles), 9-day fortnight, half-day Fridays, flexible hours, summer Fridays and part-time. Some roles are at 80% pay, and these are labelled, so check before you get excited about the schedule.

Cost: Signup shows "Free forever." Some listings hide the company name unless you upgrade to Pro.

FAQ

Are these all remote job boards?

No. Only Remote Landers is dedicated to remote work. The other five are organised around a field or a value, and remote is one part of what they list.

Which one is best?

We do not rank them. It depends on your field and what you care about most.

Do you have a relationship with these sites?

Not with any of the five others, and there are no affiliate links to them. Remote Landers is our own site.

How current is this?

It reflects public pages as of October 7, 2026. We did not sample listings on the other five, so check what you see on the site itself.
