Job Description

You are joining our growing AWS practice, focusing on North America growth across multiple industries where you have the unique opportunity to be part of driving the pre-sales motion, and being a key leader in building the delivery standards and support to effective delivery. Across clients in Fortune 1000 and Private-equity backed businesses, you work with Blend experts and Client Development leaders to be a strategic advisor to clients and shape engagements to create real business value. Internally you work across architects and engineers globally to help drive architecture standards, team support and accelerator development.

Responsibilities

Platform Architecture/Approach Pre-Sales Efforts:

• Partner with Blend Client Partners and Business Development Leaders across North America to drive sales efforts around data platform and AI Application architectures and approach, supporting proposals, workshops, and other sales activities.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture workshops, and solution demonstrations that connect client challenges to AWS-based outcomes
• Engage directly with AWS field technical teams (SAs, Specialist SAs) to co-develop solutions and strengthen joint co-sell motions
• Ensure smooth pre-sales to delivery handoffs, maintaining solution integrity and client confidence through the engagement lifecycle, and delivery activities where needed.

Technical Leadership and AWS Community

• Serve as Blend’s primary AWS advocate in North America client-facing engagements, articulating the business and technical value of cloud-native, data, and AI architectures on AWS.
• Work across regions with Blend’s architects and AI Engineers to establish best practices recommendations and help create a community around AWS to provide support to teams and ensure we stay at the cutting edge of AWS approaches.
• Work with appropriate AWS counterparts to align on relevant upskilling and collaboration.
• Contribute to thought leadership through case studies, blog posts, and speaking engagements at AWS and industry events

Executive Presence & GTM Alignment

• You will regularly participate and lead leadership touchpoints within Blend and with AWS
• Frequently lean in with client CTO and CIO’s to whiteboard solution design, and simplify and standardize to communicate complex concepts with confidence to less technical executive audiences
• Apply creative thinking on where is there opportunity for Blend to drive more client value using AWS – translating technical capabilities into business opportunities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in data or platform architectures, with at least 5 in cloud architecture, solution engineering, or technical pre-sales with a deep focus on AWS
• Strong understanding of AI and deep usage experience.
• Hands-on expertise across core data and AI services including compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, ML/AI (SageMaker, Bedrock), and serverless
• Strong understanding of real-time and batch architectures and the implications on solution design across analytical and agentic systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work shoulder-to-shoulder with sales teams in a pre-sales or solution engineering capacity
• Strong track record of designing and presenting AWS-based solutions to enterprise audiences at both technical and executive levels
• Experience engaging with AWS field teams and navigating co-sell processes, partner programs, and AWS Marketplace
• Genuine passion for AWS technology and a drive to be a credible, enthusiastic advocate for cloud transformation
• Exceptional communication skills with fluency in both technical architecture discussions and business value storytelling
• AWS certifications required; Solutions Architect Professional or specialty certifications (Data, ML, Security) strongly preferred
• Experience with data engineering, generative AI, or agentic AI workloads on AWS is a strong differentiator
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred

Additional Information

The starting pay range for this role is $260k - $275k. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance.
