Sales Manager, SMB - Base44

Job Description

We’re building the go-to-market team for Base44, an AI-powered software development platform recently acquired by Wix. As a front-line Sales Manager for our SMB segment, you’ll lead a high-velocity team of Account Executives, bringing a transformative product to small and mid-sized businesses. This is a high-impact role for a coach-first sales leader who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment. You won’t just follow a playbook, you’ll help write it, working closely with Base44 leadership to turn technical innovation into tangible business value for our customers. We are seeking candidates located in or near the Salt Lake City, Utah, or San Diego, California area.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of SMB Account Executives, including hiring, onboarding, and ramping new reps
• Run a coaching-first operating cadence: weekly 1:1s, call coaching, deal reviews, pipeline reviews, and QBRs
• Coach reps to balance outbound with inbound and product-led opportunities, so pipeline creation is never inbound-only
• Coach reps on discovery and tailored demos that connect Base44 to a customer’s real workflow and business problem
• Help reps manage the buying process by aligning decision-makers, working through technical and legal questions, and owning commercial terms through close
• Stay close to key deals and jump in as a player-coach where it moves the outcome
• Partner with Account Management on handoff and expansion
• Shape the foundational SMB sales motion, including messaging, outreach strategies, and customer segmentation to support future scale
• Accurately forecast, manage pipeline coverage, and hold the team to CRM best practices
• Read pipeline and performance data to spot patterns, diagnose what is driving results, and decide what to change
• Bring AI into how your team works, from prep and outreach to call review and coaching, and share what works across the org
• Act as a feedback loop between the market and the product team to influence roadmap and positioning

Qualifications

• 6+ years of B2B sales experience in a technology company, including 2+ years directly managing quota-carrying AEs, with a track record of team attainment and improved win rates
• Strong personal track record of exceeding quota in SMB environments with shorter sales cycles and high-volume deal flow
• A proven coach who can break down a deal, give direct feedback, and visibly improve rep performance
• A strong problem solver who thinks creatively and independently, and can point to a significant problem you solved for your company
• Hands-on use of AI with your team, with real examples of how it changed the way your team sells or operates
• High emotional intelligence: you build trust, give candid feedback with care, and lead through ambiguity and change
• Strong analytical skills: you are comfortable reading a data set, pulling out the insights, and turning them into action
• Experience with PLG or “land and expand” motions, leveraging ICs to drive organizational adoption
• Familiarity with AI, ML, or developer-centric SaaS, and comfort discussing technical workflows with stakeholders
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable with the ambiguity of a “startup within a giant” environment
• Located in or near the Salt Lake City, Utah, or San Diego, California area

Compensation: The approximate base compensation is $110,000 - 130,000/yr for San Diego, California. In addition to the base pay, this role includes variable compensation earned and company RSUs as part of the compensation package.
